This exercise expresses gathering into oneself and outer manifestation. The hands which are on the shoulders extend horizontally. It means that firstly we give. This is the masculine principle, the creative principle. This which we have, we must give outside. Then we place the hands back on the shoulders. It means that we take from the Nature again what it will give us. This is the feminine principle, the taking principle.
This two conditions change. When the hands are directed (open) outside they send off and absorb energy. The fingers are transmitters, through which energy is sent. And the interplaces between the fingers are perceiving antennas.
When this exercise is made with awakened consciousness it urges the man to the idea of taking and giving of the gained. Through this exercises this fruitful idea is sent to the world as well.
This exercise is called 'awakening' because when in man is born the idea of giving of the gained (on assimilating the last) this is already a sign of the awakening of his consciousness. This is already outgrowing the frames of the limited personal life and entering a wider sphere in the whole life. This is the beginning of the manifestation of the human soul. It has to awaken and manifest itself in its beauty.
